Premise:
Coming out of our first interstellar war, humanity has made contact with a distant
alliance of alien races. Now, a captain and crew must bring an ambassador to
that alliance. But first they have to get there, and there are races in between
that don't want them to succeed. The future of the human race hangs not
only in whether they succeed, but also in how they conduct themselves in the
process.

Commentary:
I have some of the settings. I have a number of characters and some scenes.
I have starts on a number of story lines and subplots that fit loosely into
a larger plot. It could almost be a TV series, or a series of novels. If it's
a ten-book series I don't think that's the first thing to send a
publisher/agent. I still need to lay it all out and connect the ends, and then
I can start breaking it out into discrete, separate books. There's a possibility
that different books would focus in part on different characters' perspectives.
